Life-Kinda Sucks

It is a fact. Life is not fair. Life is not just. Life is not happy. Or sad. Or anything. Life is a car we get to drive. Some get a Lamborgini, fully fueled up, ready to tear a new one down the Reality highway. Some get a Tesla, seems nice at first, then bursts into flames for no reason. Some get a used Toyota. Many miles travelled and still gets the job done. Then there are the Ford Pinto’s, as long as you don’t get rear-ended, you might be fine.

Life is different for everyone. There have been trillions of people that have driven the highways of Reality. Each one different from each other. Why does he get the Lambo? Why does she get the BMW? Why did I get the AMC Gremlin? It doesn’t seem fair. There is nothing a person can do to influence which car they get. It all comes down to how you choose to drive.

Somedays you’ll wish you had a 4X4 to get through the rough stuff. Somedays you wish you had a convertible to enjoy the breeze in your hair. Sometimes you’re the one with the convertible that won’t close up as it starts to rain. Some get a road map to where they are supposed to go. Some toss that out the window. Some wish they had some clue as to where they are going. Some get so lost they never make it back to the road. Even when you think you’re heading in the right direction, accidents happen. A crash. A part breaks. You miss a turn. It all seems so unfair.

Some don’t even get a car. Some don’t even get a pair of shoes. Some cannot move at all. What is the point? Why must Reality be so terrible to not even give everyone a fighting chance?

Fight is what it’s all about. Some don’t get a car, so they find a way to build one. Some get a rusty old Chevy and find a way to upgrade. Some who have a good, reliable car stop to help those that don’t. The interesting thing is Reality is not a race. And we all end up at the same destination in the end. We get to choose how to handle the road. Do we set traps for others to make their journey miserable or do we lend a hand and help more people enjoy the ride? Are we so focused on the road ahead and how well we’re doing to not notice others suffering behind us? Reality is going to do Reality stuff. The more there are people willing to help others to get on the road and drive the good drive, the better off we all are.

This is your one ride. Make it count.
